I remember feeling so fearful that people would soon forget our son, Zane after he passed on to his heavenly life. The thought of that was gut stabbing.
Recently I saw this quote, and wanted to share it with you.
I love this. It is so true.
This message also reminds me to do the same for others who have lost a loved one. Some great ways to begin the conversation are, “Tell me one of your favorite stories about _________ .” Another one is, “I remember when ________ did ______ . It was so much fun!”
I think this is also a great strategy for the holidays. What about setting aside a time with your family to share stories about your loved one? The stories will be a warm and uplifting way to remember during holiday gatherings.
At the same time, you will be the recipient of a gift and you will be giving the gift of remembering to others as well.
