Shut Down or Open Wide

Hey, it is Barb and Nic.

I have been traveling a bit lately. It’s Springtime, that time of the year when people are excited about getting out and about and being with their horses.

I am excited, too, about spending more time with Nic when I can. He’s fresh and feeling good.

I’m also grateful for all the people I have the honor of working with. It’s a fun time.

So, an idea keeps popping up for me, and I think about it for myself, and I want to share it with you.

One part is the idea of shutting down – by shutting down, I mean when you don’t see many possibilities for yourself. And the options that you do see – you’re not very excited about.

Sometimes these folks come out to ride with this kind of filter or lens through which they see everything in a limited or negative perspective of themselves.

I always want to find the key to help people see how magnificent they indeed are and how unlimited their opportunities are. We can all stay open and keep learning – keep striving and follow our heart – and not be afraid to fail.

The other part of this is the people who are not shut down – they are open and going for it! They trust their creativity and ideas and do not fear failure.

There are special people in my life who are these role models. I try to study them because I want to see what their magic is. They are not afraid and see possibilities, and they mine their uniqueness.

I want to encourage you to be open and go for it.

Be kind to yourself. Dream big. Go for it. There is no failure.

  6. Hi Barb, Well this Sunday video dove tails nicely into the interview you had with Sandy Collier, which I’ve listened to twice now in the last two days!!! You both have that zest for going forward and it does “rub off” onto others. Thank you for that encouragement. 🙂
