How do You See Pressure?
How do you see pressure?
It could be a competition, riding in front of other people – or you need to do well in a particular situation – like winning or pleasing a client.
Reflecting on your view of pressure is what this article is all about.
But rather than seeing pressure as a threat – what if you saw high stakes as opportunities?
Opportunities to know where you’re solid – and where you need to improve. Opportunities to keep stretching and growing.
Of course, you want to knock it out of the park, but none of us have any control over winning or other people’s opinions.
Zero.
Instead, you can see pressure as a chance to get so focused, clear, and so in the moment that you KNOW you’ll do your best.
Those are the skills that ensure your personal highest level of performance, time after time.
And then – do your job. Because results always take care of themselves.
And when the event is over, celebrate what worked, own those things, and then see what didn’t work, and know that’s precisely what you’ll practice next time.
We have yet to arrive.
It’s all just one big adventure.
But when you’re in it for the passion, love of what you do, and the opportunity to keep growing, success will always be according to you.
You’ll be your best consistently, and – no matter what happens – you’ll never stop believing in yourself.

Hi Barb,
Thank you for the words of wisdom🥰
Thank you again Barb, you’re a wonderful inspiration, more great words of encouragement and wisdom
Thank you Barb for your encouragement ! Really enjoyed this weekend in Moab ! As always after one of your clinics I feel so blessed and grateful!
Hi dear Barb, I feel lots of pressure when somebody is taking a video from me while I ride my horse Proud to be Cocky and then I do not like what I see, because it is so much less good than without the camera.
But when I lope my Horse bymyself I feel like I own the world. It is so much fun. Love you guys and hope to hear from you soon. Vera from Switzerland
