Russell McCord, NCHA Director of Judges, has been an NCHA member since 1978 and started judging in 1985 and is a producer or narrator on the NCHA educational DVDs “Inside The Judges Stand 1, 2 & 3”, “How To Score Higher”, “How To Choose The Right Cow” and the “2011 Judges Rules and Guidelines” DVD. As a judge Russell has judged all of the major aged events multiple times, including the NCHA Futurity five times. In the year 2000 he reached 430 judging credits, which was a new record at that time. Over his career he has literally judged hundreds of thousands of runs. McCord became an NCHA Monitor in 1994 and has been a Monitor for over 200 major aged events. These shows range from 10 days to 3 weeks long and he has been responsible for millions in prize money over the past seventeen years. |

Russell became the NCHA Assistant Director of Judges in 2001 and became the NCHA Director of Judges in 2004. Since then he has given seminars all over the world including Sweden,Venezuela, Germany, Brazil and Canada. He is responsible for training and certifying all NCHA Judges in the United States and abroad. Currently he has 384 carded judges under him which give away more than forty-five million dollars each year.
