Firstly I had to watch it in 2 goes as I stoppped and started that many times so I could write things down. I think I will need to watch again straight through to see if I can absorb it all better. I hope lesson 3 is open for a couple of days as my internet doesn’t always work well. Would it be possible to get a copy of the full page blueprint (top of page 6), as an A4, I’m finding it is difficult to read. I would be most grateful. I’m coming to terms with lots of feelings… Read more »
Hi, Julianne, I know… it is difficult to read as it is on the video… but (-:)… that’s why we broke it down in the notes downloads. That button is below Lesson 3. I hope that helps and thank you for being with us.
First, Thank you Barbara for sharing your knowledge. I watch Julie Goodnight’s videos and she has mentioned you many times. The timing of your videos could not have come at a better time for me. I am now 68 & began my horse journey only 8 years ago, I count my blessings every day. I read & study all the time, 5 years ago I found the perfect barn & trainer for me, the trainer & supportive barn mates pieces I have, but confidence has been a challenge for me because of some initial bad experiences with instructors & being… Read more »
Thank you for this great guideline. I will enjoy trying these tasks with my new horse, as I build our relationship.
Lots of great information. I know I can do this just needed that push. Waiting to hear more on your new course
Thank you so much, Pam! It will be out tomorrow. I appreciate you.
Thank you, Dana!
Whew! Such a lot of information for the kindergarten student. I have more to work on than I realized. I’m sure I won’t remember all you have said so am wondering how to get clarification on the blueprint as I progress from the very beginning. I do have an immediate concern. I have no support system. At the farm where I board no one else rides. And I have no vehicle to transport her to a place where I can ride with others or participate in a clinic. Any suggestions?
Hi, Linda. I will be sending an email tomorrow morning that will answer all of these questions and give you some options for working more with this group. At least it will offer that option to you. We will walk through the blueprint and there’s an incredible support system plus some remote video coaching possibilities for you on your horse.
I, too, am learning on my own. I have watched a lot of videos and read a lot of books on riding, training, etc. I have learned much from this and kind of stitched together what works for me and my horse. Keep at it, have fun, enjoy your horse and stay safe.
This is a lot of information and I will need more guidance with my new horse. Can’t wait to hear about the course you are offering.
This has reminded me of how far my horse Spark and I have come as a brave and trusting team and it is inspiring. I can see the power of your integrated approach to the mental, physical and technical aspects of riding and showing. Thanks so much for sharing!
You’re so welcome, Leah. Yes, you can use the power of this integrated approach. (-:
Thank you, Susan. Tomorrow I will get it to you. (-:
Can you give me some examples of “Values” following the “Big Why” ? Also, please expand on “IPS” – the whole title(?)
Hi, Stephen. Thank you and I appreciate the ‘xo’.
Ruth Goodger, I know exactly what your feeling. My mare is always looking for her next spook as well. More so in the arena then when we ride out. I seem to be focusing on that which I’m sure shes feeling and makes it worse.
I have been a goal setter all my life. I most often write out my steps to achieve a goal so I have a plan that allows me to verify my progress and focus myself and my horses on a pathway to achievement. The blueprint was especially helpful to me because it mimics something I am comfortable with.
Prepping myself and my horse for a ride – sometimes a step forgotten. I always groom and tack up my horse with a lot of checking in, but actually mentally preparing me and my horse makes more sense.
