Special Anniversary
I want to share a very special date with you.
The 18th of this month marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of our son, Zane, from this world to a heavenly life.
I do not say this to make you sad. In fact, it’s just the opposite.
I want to encourage you that no matter how difficult anything in your life may seem, you too will survive … and if you so choose, you will grow exponentially in the process.
In the time since I temporarily said goodbye to Zane (because I will see him again), I have become enlightened about the role of loss in ALL of our lives.
My knowing (beyond belief), is that there is always an equal to or greater value gift waiting to be discovered, if we will only open to receive it.
No matter how difficult any situation may seem to you now, you too will make it, and in due time, flourish … if you so choose.
If you lose a dear one, know they are cheering you on as you continue your life’s learning and your life’s work. And, that’s a great thing … to have your own personal cheerleader!

I cannot tell you how much I needed this encouragement today! Thank you so much! Life is short, relationships are precious and God is good!
Thank you for such a special, inspirational message. My thoughts and love go out to you.
You always say just the right things, at just the right times. You have a way of saying them that NEVER leaves doubt in my mind. You are genuine, and you are sincere…you are real. What you have to say is REAL, and it is a gift. Thank you-for all you do for me personally, and you may never know it. Bless you again and again.
Thank you. I just returned home from the unexpected passing of my mom. The beautiful thing is that I received confirmation that she had made a committment to the Lord so I know I will see her again. But the grieving of not being able to talk to her takes time to work through. I know God is faithful to those who turn their face to Him.
I saw your picture the other day on Cutting 101, it made me think of Zane and your family. Your message was very close to my heart. Today I was driving home after gathering cows, and talking to God. Asking for eyes to see His plan. These are very scary times for a lot of people. I am looking for that gift, and do believe that God has a plan for us. I could see my Grandpa and Grandma today, smiling down on me as I was moving cattle over beautiful hills and valleys. That is the one place I feel most close to them. Thank you for sharing with me, I needed your encouragement, God sent you to me today to make me smile and remind me to be open and willing.. Thank you again. Barbra You are a Blessing..:) Star
In the words of a very wise woman, "Never Give Up." Thank you for your inspiration and for always reminding us what’s important in life,
Love,
Donna Wells
Thank you for your words, reminding me of what I too, am learning: that all loss is a touchpoint for review (life’s path), and all challenges a catalyst for greater good – if we so choose.
Barbra, I truly enjoy your monthly news letter and I have your books and tapes that have helped me a lot. I lost my twelve year old daughter 12 years ago this May 30 as a result of a horse accident. What you said about Zane touched me so much. I feel Tiffany every time I ride. She is my inspiration in my cutting. Thanks, Tom
Love that thought! Recently lost my Father and my S.O. ‘s best friend.
Thank you for including us and your site this month looks great!! Our wish for you and Tom is to have peace, grace, and understanding of the Lord and truly believe in your faith. We will both see our sons again. The love we have for family, friends and our faith will see us through. Love, Peggy and Dale
Barbra,
Thank-you for giving your life of pain and success for the many of us who have tapped in to what God is doing and has done in you. I have your book, ‘The Gift’, and think it remarkable that you have turned everything bad that has happened into so much good.
I know you give all the Glory to God, as it should be. However, humans have a choice on how they handle life. Thank-you for the choices you have made.
You are a blessing to so many. Zane is so proud and is in heaven cheering you on!
Again, thanks, Reesa
p.s. I do read the book every day I can!
I’m sorry you have had to experience the same loss and pain that we know. And that others know. Time helps you to find a way to deal with it, but you never get over it.
I remember being at your arena when Zane was playing Tball. You’ll invited me to go along to the game. It is one of my fondest memories. I will always cherish the time I spent with the Schzlte family. Its a lesson in love. Thank you
Thank you to everyone for your kind comments. My husband and I are so appreciative of your personal support … and also, certainly as equally important is that you may continue to keep growing in your life no matter how difficult things may be.
There’s always a silver lining.
Thanks, again … Barbra
Hi Barb,
I still have fond rememberances of Zane, of when our 2 boys were playing soccer and in school together. My son, Marc Dierking turns 26 today.
