Here’s to YOU!!! And a GREAT 2012!!!
I had an awesome December.
I LOVED the Futurity Champions Cup Cutting and wrote about it in the Cutting article below. I was truly moved by this event.
Then, over the holidays, my husband, Tom and I ventured to Santa Fe, New Mexico for some R&R. I’m refreshed and definitely back rocking and rolling now! I like those vacations.
I have exciting plans for 2012. They range from goals about riding and showing to more "Insights" Interviews, to some new online courses! I’m really pumped.
I’m also developing a new Product Resource Guide to help you know what’s on our site, BY CHALLENGE, not just the creator’s name. I going one step at a time and am starting with cutting resources. If you cut I am enlisting your help in this department. YOUR OPINION
Later, I will create an index for the Personal Performance and Horsemanship Resources by challenge as well.
I’m still working on ideas for a project to bring kids in children’s hospitals together with kids who ride horses. This is a longer term project, but one that’s a true passion.
I hope you are dreaming, too … and energized for the New Year!

Barbara,
I think your idea about getting kids involved with horses to interact with kids in children’s hospitals is an awesome idea! My son spent several weeks in a children’s hospital last summer and as you know that is a very eye opening experience! At this particular hospital, they had a pet program which involved volunteers bringing their dogs (which had obedience training and met several other behavorial criteria) to interact with the patients once or twice a month. It was amazing to watch the kids with serious/terminal illnesses light up while they interacted with the pet owners and the dogs. I understand that it probably isn’t feasible to bring the horses to the hospital:( but I think even bringing the horses in virtually would be a great benefit especially if other kids were involved. What would we do if we couldn’t interact with our horses (therapists)!
