Let’s celebrate LOVE!

Here are some thoughts about love.

Love celebrates what and who we love in our lives every day.

Love sees the best in ourselves, in each other and in our horses no matter what’s going on on the outside.

Love is walking to the barn and realizing how crazy we are about our lives with horses and enjoying every second of it.

This Valentine’s Day, I wish you love in all you think and do.

From the heart of love you can overcome any obstacle and reach all your goals … and beyond.

Happy Valentines Day!

Here’s to YOU!!! And a GREAT 2012!!!

I had an awesome December.

I LOVED the Futurity Champions Cup Cutting and wrote about it in the Cutting article below. I was truly moved by this event.

Then, over the holidays, my husband, Tom and I ventured to Santa Fe, New Mexico for some R&R. I’m refreshed and definitely back rocking and rolling now! I like those vacations.

I have exciting plans for 2012. They range from goals about riding and showing to more "Insights" Interviews, to some new online courses! I’m really pumped.

So Thankful

I begin this month’s newsletter with two important “Thank Yous” for:

1. The great success of the Lloyd Cox and Boyd Rice benefit “Insights” Webinar for JB McLamb and Cyndy Dvorak. WOW … so many made a difference. And, it’s not over. If you choose to purchase the audios again, or for the first time, the money will keep going toward JB’s and Cyndy’s medical expenses.

Howdy from the Sahara Desert!

Some newsie bullets to bring you up to date! (-:)

  • Texas is still hot and dry. “Be cool,” has new meaning.
  • Our young Aussie dog, Ruby is getting better with the cattle. She’s really my husband, Tom’s dog. I try not to let my trainer side interfere!
  • My third "Insights" Webinar was with Stacy Westfall. She did a fantastic job describing communication with a horse, and more. Stacy is truly extraordinary in how she thinks about everything.

“No Resolutions Recommended!”

Instead, Get Into a Good Story

I bet you love a good story.

I do. In fact, this past holiday season, for the first time in a while, I got immersed in reading a couple of great books. They took me away.

My husband, and I shared one of them. We read it out loud to each other. It was great. Tom just happened to discover it in a bookstore.

“How to ‘Read’ a Cow”

Six Tips to Help You Pick the Right Cow for Cutting

Recently I received an email with an interesting question, “When a horse is cutting out another animal, what is it reading?”

I’m not sure what a horse is reading. (Much is instinct for a cow bred horse … just like a bird dog being on point is natural for that kind of dog.) But, I suspect what a horse intuits is similar to the signs that help people “read” a cow.
